The tradition of Satyananda Yoga (or Bihar Yoga) is developed, expounded and transmitted by Swami Satyananda Saraswati and his successor Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, based on the texts and teachings of the traditions of Samkhya, Vedanta, Yoga and Tantra. Satyananda Yoga does not require any political or religious beliefs. It provides anyone, regardless of social status, with the tools for personality development so as to become stable and self-confident. Satyananda Yoga is a holistic system that promotes optimal development of human potential at all levels: physical, mental, emotional, psychic and spiritual. While rooted in the tradition of yoga and the ancient philosophies of Tantra, Vedanta and Samkhya, the teachings of Satyananda Yoga offer a holistic system suited to modern humanity’s way of thinking and needs. Yoga practices help to face physical discomfort caused by emotional stress and mental difficulties. They can be adequately resolved with a simple yogic lifestyle: combining current scientific thinking with ancient wisdom, it brings physical well-being, mental stability and self-discovery.
This integrative, research-based yoga program offers participants an immersion into that yogic lifestyle. You can join the retreat any day of the week, at your convenience. Friday is the weekly day off from scheduled program so it is recommended to arrive on that day, if possible. This week-long yoga program includes morning mediation, pranayama, asana, yogic kriya, yoga philosophy and special yoga technique classes. This integrative, research-based yoga program offers participants an immersion in that yogic lifestyle. This retrait is a physically, emotionally and spiritually rejuvenating experience.
